Veteran Reserve Corps |
Details |
The Veteran Reserve Corps was created on March 18, 1864 when an executive order changed the name of the Invalid Corps to the Veteran Reserve Corps. Like the Invalid Corps before it, it was a component of the United States army in which disabled soldiers preformed light duty. These duties preformed then enabled able-bodied soldiers to instead be sent to the front lines and fight. |
