Title |
Letter from Thomas D. Hazzard to Joseph H. Hazzard |
Scope & Content |
Thomas Davis Hazzard writes about his experience in the Union Army in this letter to his brother. He details his busy schedule as Quarter Master. Hazzard includes updates on letters he has received from friends and family. Hazzard also mentions that his barracks are along the railroad. From this location, he sees all the soldiers being sent home and all the supplies being sent to the frontline in preparation for battle. In a postscript, dated the day after the letter was written, Hazzard recounts to his brother a fire that occurred. He was the first to raise the alarm that the fire had broken out. |
