Title |
To the Men of the South. By a Texan. |
Summary |
An appeal to Confederate prisoners, presumably those captured at Gettysburg, to redeem themselves and pledge allegiance to the government which they attacked. The defeat at Gettysburg was a harbinger of peace; the Northern states had made abundant advances, were economically sound, and rich in beauty. It is difficult to determine whether the pamphlet was spurious, as were so many other appeals to captured Confederate soldiers. |
