The House of Representatives is the one of the two houses within the United States Congress. Congress, being composed of the House and the Senate, comprises the United States' legislative branch. The House, along with the Senate, is integral in the passing of legislation into law. The House of Representatives is made up of representatives elected by every state. While each state has two senators, the number of state representatives is determined by the state's population as dictated in the census. In total, there are 435 representatives in the House. |
