Title |
Letter from Will Moore to his Mother |
Scope & Content |
Will Moore writes a letter home to his mother asking her to send him a box of specific supplies. He asks her to send items like coffee, utensils, and clothing as there are few sutlers in camp at the moment. He tells his mother how some of his army friends are and asks her to send him any new about his brother, Hugh. He apologies for not writing sooner because paper is scarce, exemplified by the large handwritten blank table taking up a large portion of the back side of the page. |

Randall Hibbs received his box last [Saturday]. I think you might risk sending me one now. I wish you would send me a ½ gallon coffee pot also a knife fork and spoon, also a plate (tin one) as we have no chance to get them here, as there are very few Sutlers here. I guess I will not need more shirts, I have a good supply now. Spencer Atkinson was to see me to day [today] he looks right well, he is a sergeant, I never saw him look better, he wishes to be remembered to you all. Have you heard from Hugh lately.
