Title |
Letter from Thomas D. Hazzard to Joseph H. Hazzard |
Scope & Content |
From his stay at the Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia, Thomas Davis Hazzard writes to his brother. He sends his thoughts about the New York Draft Riots. Hazzard calls the rioters "traitors" and "villains". Filled with Unionist pride, Hazzard claims he would rather go put down the riots than go back to the front lines. He also recounts a trip to his mother's and friend's houses in the city of Philadelphia. While in the city he went with a young woman to a party which he did not know was actually thrown in his honor. |
