Title |
Letter from Thomas D. Hazzard to Joseph H. Hazzard |
Scope & Content |
Writing from his encampment with the Union Army, Thomas Davis Hazzard informs his brother of his life in camp. His brother sent him a package which was torn open, so Hazzard lists what it contained incase anything was missing. He notes that his troop was reviewed by the Governor of Pennsylvania Andrew Curtin. He tell his brother of some men's promotions and his desire to be paid. Although he signed up to be furloughed (mentioned in an earlier letter), it does not seem like he will be able to before his troop is sent back into combat. Two men were detained at Fort Delaware for overstaying their furlough. |
